In Pennsylvania. I have never been to TFP before and its only 45 minutes away. Has anyone been there? Is it worth the trip? Looks like a cool place.

it is DEFINITELY worth the drive. I drive 100 miles each way to go there.

price example- I bought my rsm250 for 1399. cheapest price anywhere.

lots to choose from, great fish, supplies,etc... They have very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Gee, I'm starting to sound like I work there or am a commercial. Guess you get the hint.

Yes, it's worth the 45min drive!

I live about 1.5 hours away and have been there several times. Definitely worth it. Prices are great and selection is awesome. Their livestock is good and they have lots of corals. If you go, try to wait until you need a bunch of things, salt, test kits, bulbs etc. so it's worth it.

I live in Virginia Beach. My family is in PA thought, just visiting. I havent been to Richmond yet but ill take your advice I know their are a few there. Their are a couple of small LFSs in Virginia beach. The best is Reef Chief. Amazing quality livestock. All of his fish and corals in their tanks are 3 times the size of what other LFSs say the fish and corals should be at full size. I mean they have really gorgeous stuff.

hurley - if you are visiting PA and are in the area, I would say it is worth the trip. I would not drive from VA Beach just to go there. I also have family in PA and have been there on multiple occasions and for dry goods (test kits, supplements, pumps etc.) they have some of the best prices on the east coast. However, I do not like their livestock nor the employees. The times I have been in, most of their fish do not appear to be very healthy. Also, I have been treated rather rudely on a couple of visits and told things that I know to be NOT true.

On that note, as wfb2270 said, my local LFS is Fish World and I am incredibly lucky and blessed to have such a great store within 15 minutes of my house. The owners are phenomonal and the employees are extremely knowledgable. Please check out GoToSleeps build thread on this forum. We use the same LFS and you will be able to see some of the quality I am talking about. The livestock are incredibly healthy!

+1 on blumoon reefers... I am a local here and I can say that the dry goods are awesome but the livestock is not cared for very well. they are more of a volume type of store than a quality type of store.
If your visiting family and only 45 min away then go for it because the place is the walmart of saltwater stores, otherwise nothing special.

I have been to TFP twice and its 2 hours away. Thought it was more worth of a drive then captain nemos aquarium. Both are very neat places though but TFP is much bigger.

Captain Nemos is basically a regular fish store with a very large shark tank. It's not bad, but not worth any special trip IMO.
