I have a SeaClone 100 that I hate becouse I cant get it to work right and i get massive amounts of micro bubbles in my tank , and its loud I CANT STAND THIS THING. Im thinking about getting a Remora with a MaxiJet 1200 and I want to know if it is going to be as loud as the SeaClone I have . If anybody has had both of these and knows what they both sound like please let me know thanx.

    WELCOME TO 3REEF!!!

I think Craig Manoukian has a Seaclone so he might be useful.

I have a Remora and yes, it's quiet.

What kind of pump are you using on the Seaclone?

If you get the aquac remora get it with the Maxi jet 1200 upgrade. With the rio they are very loud and underpowered. with the maxi jet they are fairly quiet to begin with and will get quieter in a month or so. They are awesome skimmers!

The Seaclone is a venturi skimer so you were hearing the noise of the air being drawn into the pump. The Remora uses spray injection to produce bubbles. It is basically a high pressure stream of water sprying into the skimmer water and causing turbulence which in turm makes the bubbles. It is a fairly quiet way to go about it once it is all broken in.
