Is the vent hole too small?

    I dont think that it is because the vent is too small. I think it's because you have nothing to "catch" the foam and vent it downwards. If you look, all skimmers will either have a raised or "textured" lid, or an actual ring that goes around the inside (underside of the lid) around the outside of the skimmers neck. This forces the foam to collect and dribble straight down into the collection cup, rather than just spread outwards. If you could do something like that you should be fine.

    so basically i'm making the texture rough so that the foam will explode when it touches it? do you have any picture of these kinda lids so i can mod my lid? ;D

    mine's just a smooth plain lid , pif my LFS for this poor design

    Hi everyone!

    i mod the lid just like you guys recommended , cut the top of a 1.5 litre plastic bottle and glued it to the lid, now the foam accumulates at the bottom ;D

    picture after cleaning, anyway how often do i have to clean my skimmer neck? i clean it once a week and find the skimmate production rather bad after the neck gets dirty
