Setting up a 20 high frag tank will not house any wheres near enough to make money. I have a 55 frag tank with 400 frags,29 wil 100 and a 20 with about 65 and i dont really sell to make money i just like to have frags of stuff to trade, ive thought about doing it to make money but unless you go huge and have TONS of colonies to maintain your supply, its not worth it.

You might be better off with a large footprint / shallow tank with halide lighting for the fastest growth. I would look for large pieces / colonys on craigslist or local forums you can easily frag for profit. Ordering online is just about the same as going to a LFS most of the time. To make any real money you'll need to find a wholesaler and place bulk orders, and setup a nice website.

Dont buy that odyessa light, its junk. Ballast are horrible, they under power the bulbs and fail very often. Spend the money and get a tek light. Glass cages are nice but i have heard horror stories about the tanks cracking, theres a store in buffalo ny that had a bunch of there tanks crack. Still unless your selling like 300 frags a month its not going to make much money. PM me if you want some more details i can help ya out!

Lots of LFS buy frags if they are in demand but don't expect to turn a profit or you are in the wrong hobby. We do this for the enjoyment. I have and can sell simple things like zenia, mushrooms and zoanthids but SPS and LPS are specialty items and few LFS carry premium examples since the trading/bartering trade has gotten so popular. We have numerous local clubs that would put a LFS out of business if they relied on coral sales.

go big = as big as you can afford. Not only initial purchase, but long term layout as well.

I sell frags to my lsf and by the time I get to the check out it equals about 20% off the bill!
