Is there ways to get algea to disappear

    No, you do not need to rid of any of your LR. And obviously do not use any chemicals. When I had this problem I just did a water change and siphoned where-ever there was algae. Pick up big chunks with a net. Rock can be salvaged. Do you have any corals or is it FOWLR?

    Get some more inverts too, to help get rid of this algae bloom. Just be sure not to get too many, so you can still support them once this bloom is over-with.

    Its a mixed reef tank.... coral LR and fish

    I'm new to this forum....I need to post tank specs somewhere, I'll get around to that soon.

    A friend of mine painted the front panel of his tank and we haven't see algae again....

    removal (manual or cuc) + nutrient reduction (water changes, algae, phosban, denitrator vodka etc...) + time and good bulbs that haven;t gone low in spectrum + decent mag levels = no algae. The first two are the most important though. good luck with the fight. Toothbrush would be the tool to use for that stuff, get it caught in the bristles and clean the bristles for best results. (cyano can reattach pretty easily)

    Lol at "my friend painted the front panel" lololol classic john classic.... that would work but I recomend the second option John mentioned, removal and nitrate reduction
