Is this 660nm led??? (for ATS)

    Look like 660s to me. If they were 600nm, they would be pumpkin orange. 660s are not expensive, so I doubt they sent you the wrong ones

    It has to be 660nM led? If so can you tell me why?

    Most 3W red diodes are actually 1.5W. I haven't found any actual 3W red diodes. They're not 3W at least, at the reliable places such as LEDGroupBuy, RapidLED and StevesLEDs. Even so, at 1.5W, a red LED should be bright enough. This is beside the point though.

    Back to the original question. Unless you have a spectrometer, you can't know for sure. You can however, get a cheap visual one to see what spectrum that is emitted from a website such as this. It should give a basic idea of what the output wavelengths of the LED are.

    Personally, if you need a 660nm LED, I'd go with one of the Luxeon Deep Red lights. They're from a reliable company and are pretty easy to get.

    Something like this on Amazon will work. It won't be perfect, but it should give you a basic idea of the range.

    Advanced Aquarist has a good image of what you should see when you get a certain wavelength of light.
