Is this a birds nest coral?

    Ok everyone here are the new pics I promised last night, the coral is along the back wall of my tank so it is still difficult to get a great picture but here is my best shot at it... There is a couple of shots one from the front and one from the side that shows a litttle more of the skeleton. Let me know what you think... Thanks.

    it definately looks like a pocci from that last pic...

    when was the last time you added coral...? that is a pretty great hitch hiker...the bunny of the SPS world...

    It has been several months maybe almost a year since the last coral was added and that coral was a Duncan coral, sometimes called a Duncan anemone. I have a picture I can attach showing this same coral skeleton, that has now become this birds nest or whatever, when it was a live bubble coral, but like I said that coral died probably more than six months ago.

    If you look close toward the rear of the side profile pic (of the new coral) you can still see the upright slats from the skeleton of the bubble coral.

    Definitely looks like a poccilopora. The bubble could have been preventing it from growing. LPS are more aggressive than SPS so it most likely kept it from developing more.
