ok, i thought this was a blue devil damsel, however my mate, is convinced it is not ?

Looking for some confirmation either way please ?

At the moment they are in jail, awaiting either release or the pet shop opening tomorrow............................................

Will they ever be "nice" with my other fish ?

They will most likely not be nice with your other fish. I can't tell from the angle but they don't look like Blue Devils to me.

    +1

Looks more like a yellow-tail (not really much difference), but hard to tell for certain. Damsels can change their color dramatically depending on their mood; also the lighting and angle makes it hard to say. Either way, Damsels usually only play nice with fish of equal temperament, and sometimes then only when said other fish gets tired of being bullied and bites back a few times.

i removed them completely from the tank over the weekend and popped them into my hospitsl tank, where a very grumpy flower pot is currently recovered from clown fish amour ! LoL
unfortuntley there is no air in this tank (whoops) so last night i picked them up (and i mean just reached in and picked them up) and transerred them into their current floating jail.

Will they now think they were the last fish in the tank and not be so teritorial ?

Then off they go, back to the pet shop tomorrow :)

Should I say something, or just pop them into one of the tanks ?

I'd definitely get it approved first. You might even get store credit for them. :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !

Actually naughty is not researching or knowing enough about the fish you purchased prior to purchase.:p

A simple google to liveaquaria.com would have most likely given you the correct ID and information.
