is this a coral?

    its is growing on a piece ov lr with xenia on it. Also on a few pieces of my live rock i see a grey goo or slime growing. is that a form of algae?

    as far as if that is a coral on your live rock, if its taking the shape of the live rock my guess would be some kind of encrusted coral.

    cant really tell from the pic.

    also if you can snap a pic of this goo you have, we could prob have a better chance of id'ing it.

    but grey goo cant be good. lol well any goo cant be good. haha.
    probably best to try and remove the goo. that would be my first instinct.
    could be a form of slime algae, you could look up some pics on google or yahoo for comparison to what your seeing.

    Kinda looks like a pineapple sponge. Or, a sponge of some sort.
