    First thought is a pineapple sponge as well.

    Does it extend or retract any polyps/extentions? Does it move at all?

    Poke it with a sharp stick, see if anything happens. (kidding, DO NOT POKE WITH SHARP STICKS!!)

    +1 on iraf tunicate for sure and it is a filter feeder, I have some in my tank as well!
