So I find a 60 gallon bow front with a stand for 100 and the catch tho the center brace is snaped, now I was able to talk him down to 50 ik the stand is worth more than that and the stand is in perfect shape. Even if the tank is savageable I can get a tank to go on the stand. But I think I have a way to fix the brace
And it looks as if all the silicon is in good shape
So is it a good deal or a no deal

I think many aquariasts get caught in this situation, you want a good deal on a tank. People spend alot on powerheads, skimmers, lights, but none of that matters if their tank has a failure. Keep in mind this is THE most important part of your system and try not to cut corners.

That being said, my 125 was $150 for the tank and great custom stand, I would hesitate now at the same deal and probably buy new for the above reasons, even though I have had no real issues.

Well even if the tank is no good the stand is still in perfect shape and for 50 thats a steal on the stand

Either way I'd fill and test it outside for a good amount of time. After your brace fix of course. Do you know the story on the brace and how it broke?

I think your original idea will work fine-- get a piece of plexi cut the width and length of the brace, Epoxy it to the brace and clamp it together (spring-type cloths pins work great). For better appearance, glue the plexi to the bottom rather than the top.

You'll still want to leak-test the tank, regardless how good the seams may look.

oo trust me before i set it up its getting a good filling and such, also to add a little extra support i was going to put plastic screws with plastic wing nuts through it so just incase the epoxy decides to let go the screws will take the load of it if you see where im going with this and then paint the screws and brace to kinda give it a seamless look

I've never seen Epoxy let go of anything (lol), but extra support never hurts. :)
