We're all men here (well, most of us probably, lol). We duke it out, shake hands, then have a beer. Sorry to hear about your job man.

It torques me when people trash others and their tanks when clearly they were trying to help.

You do what you can on a budget. For future reference, unless you can find a Vortech MP20 or MP40 etc. for $5 in perfect working condition, most aquarium supplies (especially now with the economy the way it is), have low resale value. $85 is probably about right or even a bit high for what they were selling you - unless it's an AGA Megaflow, which it doesn't sound like it is.

1 The heater is visitherm submersible. Is that a bad heater for $5 used? What do you recommend I could buy for $5
2 The seaclone skimmer isnt great, ive already said that on another thread. Can you suggest a better skimmer I could buy for $95 I guess its better than having no skimmer at all
3 I Know the light wont grow corals.Did I say I was planning on growing corals with a shop light?NO I use the light so that I can see my fish, and they get some natural light from a window.Did I not say that Im saving money for a new light?Yes I did.
I get lots of enjoyment out of my tank for the little bit of money Im able to spend on it and I dont put anything in my tank That I know cant live there.

    Hey, no hard feelings .;D

I fully understand how things can be taken the wrong way over the internet.

fwiw, I sold my old 90g RR stand and canopy for 300, so I look at it like I spent 100 on my tank.

I was laid off in January of last year, and only recently have been getting interviews with 10 years of experience. I know how tough it is.

keep your chin up, it will turn around:)

Hey Horkn ,no hard feelings here either, I would love to do a plywood tank some day. That's how I found 3reef in the first place,I was reading about them on Garf because it was the only reef site I had found at the time, theirs got me interested then I googled plywood aquariums and somehow found 3reef.I initially learned how to diy rock on garf too and 6 mos later I am completely thrilled with my diy rock, which is about half the rock in my tank.Anyway,I will probably wait until right after xmas, then if the sump is still there I will try to get it cheaper.
