I'm trying to upgrade my fixture... There is a used fixture for sale Current USA Outer Orbit 48" HQI/T5HO. Are these any good? this is what it is:

    2x250w 14K HQI
    2x54w 420nm T5HO
    2x54w 460nm T5HO
18 LED Moonlights (half blue, half white)

is the Current USA a good brand? i had a hard time trying to find reviews for this specific fixture.

I dont know how much those are new.. but if its over $1000 bucks new.. sounds like a good deal. current is a mid-grade fixture. some people have some problems most dont.. but that can happen with any brand fixture.. same with a high-end automobile.. its always luck of the draw.. only good thing about a new fixture is there is a warranty period.. buying used your always taking a chance. just make sure the bulbs are a good brand like ati,uvl or giessman. good MH and t5 bulbs should last 10-12months now problem.

they are pheonix bulbs. i think the t5s are original. the guy said he only used it for 2 months though..... not sure how true this is. Im going to go take a look at it.

hoping someone with the fixture can give me some feed back.

I've owned three Currents and have always been pleased. the only complain i can muster is that sometimes the fans can be a bit loud if it's in a quite room. if you're ambitious you can swap it out fairly easily or you can just get used to it. other than that i've like mine

Probably a good deal. Like some others suggested, I'd go all brand new bulbs: Phoenix MH and ATI T5.

Post us some before and after shots.

I have been looking to upgrade recently and i looked into them. Not ba a price is decent. I found a Aquatis life mh and I prefer that light only beacuse it has a built in timer and no balast. One complete set up an only 1 plug runs mh, t5, and luner lights. For me the extra $ was worth it. Check those out but either way u should be fine.

if he bought the unit new 2 months ago.. there might be a receipt, paypal record, ebay record, or online store record of transaction.. even credit card bill.. see if he has that to prove its only 2 months old.. phoenix are good bulbs, and if the actinics 420/460 are only 2 months old.. then thats a good deal..
