I have a 72 gal bow front. I have 2 clowns, purple tang, spotted gobie, 4 pajama cardinals, marguirita snails, nassarius snails, turbo snails, 2 skunk shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp and just one BTA. I would like to get a little more anemone. Not a full fledged reef tank. But I know I need better lighting. My LFS recommended the Nova system. I currently have a rigged setup of two lighting fixtures. One has 10,000K and the other is 20,000K. Can any of you tell me if Nova would be good and do I need larger with 8 bulbs or is the 4 sufficient.

if you want to keep all kinds of corals the higher wattage the better, to a certain point. You don't want to burn your corals. And yes, Nova is a good product.

You do no what 4 pajama cardinals feed on don't you ? Shrimp :) and if you still have shrimp in there the tank must be rather newly set up and the 4 pajama cardinals maybe small yet ? But the will eat them sooner or later.. 20K what M/H or tubes ? I have never seen a 20K fluorescent bulb of any type myself Not sure why you'd have a 20 K mixed with a 10 K and on a 72 the 8 bulbs is what you would need and get the UVL actinic white and super actinic bulbs actinic and mix then 4 each and alternate them across the light.
The Nova is ok but for about the same money you can get the Tek Lights far better quality.

My pajamas are about 1" so far. Thanks for the info. I obviously didn't know they eat shrimp. My lights were just a temp fix. They don't say wattage on them. Sorry, this lighting thing is very confusing to me. Thanks for your help. I will check out the Tek Lights

I have a four bulb nova extreme T5 setup over my 55, Depending on what you want to keep, you can get away with the 6 bulb setup, but 8 will allow you to have almost anything. Also, definitely go with the UVL bulbs as Tangster said, I have two super actinics and two actinic white bulbs, great color! (if you go with a t5 setup)
