is this a good starter tank?

    i found this on craigslist but i want to know is it worth buying to have as my starter tank?i want to make it into a reef tank!!!!and what do u rate the oceanic salt water cubes?



    30 gallon Oceanic cube saltwater set-up. Includes protein skimmer, filter, heater, and other misc. supplies. Asking $150 OBO

    You'd have to ask about the protein skimmer. If its a quality one its ok. If not they are asking too much for it.

    i got the guy down to a 100 and i just asked what type of skimmer he has so when i find out ill let u know so u could tell me what u think....are these tanks good tho?


    ok its a aquatic life 116. comes with tank base filter light(florescent)lid test kit heater as well alot of extra stuff to get the tank started!!!

    Not sure on that specific brand of tank. If the skimmer is good, go ahead and buy it from him.

    i have the 14 gallon model and i love it, its really easy to setup and work with and there are plenty of do it yourself mods that can make it a killer reef tank. I think the only downside is it will leave you wanting a bigger tank ;)

    Its a decent tank. But keep in mind a good price for a used tank is a dollar a gallon. If you are going for a reef tank the only things you will be using is the tank and maybe the protein skimmer, if it's decent. Never use used heaters. Filter and light are worthless for a reef.
    Ask about the tanks history and make sure copper was never used in it.

    Florescent lighting is crap when it comes to building a reef tank. The filters are just nitrate build-ups. Go with a sump.

    Depending on what corals you want to keep, I may suggest a 4X or 6X39w T5HO light fixture.
