I am really wary of such a "good" set up at such a great price. I am looking at it myself now, but like I said, I am suspicous.

I would avoid any system that has a horizontally mounted DI chamber.

Why? Is this the reason it is low priced and has potentially large suck value?

I don't know dude.....I really don't. There has got to be a reason that the others out there are priced between $150 and $200. In order to remain competetive, the others, if they were of equal quality, would be around the same price. But there are soooooo many out there in that price range. And don't get me wrong, I am curious. I am looking into buying one of these myself. I just want to be sure before I invest in anything. Even if it is only $60. Perhaps this seller is lowballing the price of this one item to get interest generated in other items he has for sale. That is always a possibility.

DI resin dissolves, so to speak. As this happens, channels/canyons/gulleys are formed through horizontal DI chambers and the water flowing through will seek the least resistive path, i.e. thru these gulleys. When this happens, the rest of the DI resin remains out of the flow and the very purpose of the resin is defeated without water flowing through it.

These less expensive RO/DI units are not as effective for this, and other reasons.

Don't skimp in this hobby. Those who stay in it for the long haul learn soon enough that you will eventually buy the best anyway. Why not save up for it and buy it once?

You get what you pay for. There are no shortcuts.
