Is this a good way to cycle live rock?

I'm not sure of the best acid to use but I've seen other posts on here of people using acid on rock. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Ya, that helped me get a better idea where phosphate is coming from.

 

My fav tangs are yellow, purple, regal and powder blue

A couple things to keep in mind: tangs are territorial and it can be rough in a closed system, and, the more fish, the more nutrients you'll have to deal with.

 

Yup so ill go for 1 in 50g or 2 in 150g max

 

Or might not add tang in 50g

 

As of now I have a blue hippo tang in a 40. Getting ready to move him to a 120. He has clearly outgrown the 40 in just over a year. I'm considering giving him away just because I don't want to deal with the nutrients. He'd do better in a bigger tank anyway.
