Is this A Lichen?

    If I just wanted to know, I might make a cover out of plastic or something and glue it on the shell. If you kept the glue off the soft parts of the snail, stands to reason it might work?

    I've knocked them off a bunch of times and never had one die immediately. But, I don't know exactly what the circumstances were with yours RM, might have been completely different situation or different species. I've found them on the reef as well, apparently alive and well, with holes in their shells.

    Thanks RM and PJ, I think I'll just hold onto it for my $2.00 experiment then, I kind of enjoyed having something of an oddity on my turbo anyways, if anything drastic happens I'll be sure to post it.

    Btw, the Turbo is doing fine, still has his friend attached, I can't tear them apart after this long. "Till death do they part".....LOL
