    Hi All,

Is this a coral? I bought some live rock and I have these three and now there are two more tiny ones about 6 inches from these ones. I only planned to have a FOWLR tank so I don't really know much about corals.

Is it likely to survive a newbie hobbyist?

    Cheers
    Sandie

They look more like rhodactis mushrooms

Doesnt quite look like a ricordea to me, not sure what it is. Someone else will chime in soon enough.

EDIT: now that panfish says that, Id have to agree.

yes, I didn't know the scientific name but +1 to hairy mushroom....they are pretty hardy....they may be ok in a FO if you keep your water quality pretty decent.

Here's a picture of mine. It's got some more color than the one you've received, but they are very neat to have. Harmless to anything in your tank.

I believe it is rhodactis, I have some that are pink with bright green when the leds are on. Just regular water changes and they will be happy.

WOW 55gfowlr, that is pretty attractive, hope mine gets that big! Do they "multiply"?
    What should I feed it?
