Was looking around the tank at night and noticed something furry. After waiting for a bit the not so little guy came out, a crab that is blackish/red with bumps on his head all legs are furry except for claws and body, also I did notice it was scrapping the rocks and munchin on something (not a coral thankfully:)). I have had a few come in live rocks before but never seen one like this.

to the right of the aiptasia....(my other issue)

Is it red in person? Looks green in the image. Looks like an emerald (mine is bumpy w/ fury legs, but so are a lot of other crabs), which is okay. It's really hard to tell, honestly.

Yeah sorry about that, hard to take a quality pic at night :p, but yes it is definitely a dark red. the claws are mostly black.

Might be that ruby emerald crab. Yellow light from a flashlight/fixture never seems to capture color well in my tank. Everything looks brownish.

3rd row under mithrax crabs is almost identical to mine other then the hairs being longer on mine, so definitely an emerald. Thanks for the help !;D

Check its claws if they are spoon shaped its a mithrax. If they are pointy I would try to catch and remove it.:-/
