Is this a zoanthid??

    yes, that looks like a zoa, but there are a couple other types of coral that look just like that as well. Ill wait for the more experienced reefers to answer. But good find!! Very nice freebie!

    It appears to be either a zoanthid, or a palythoa

    +1. They are pretty much the same thing. Actually, you cant be 100% certain without a DNA test ;)
    Care would be the same for both. Good score

    Well, sweet! What should I do, if anything, to care for this lil guy while the tank is cycling? I can tell he really digs the light, but I'm trying to keep the light to a minimum, to prevent algae.

    Any suggestions?
