Not sure if this is aiptasia. I have a green clove polyp growing nearby that is growing like mad. Which leads me to believe it might be another colony sprouting. I really hope its the latter of the two.

Actually, the word is decimate. :)

FWIW, the vast majority of corals that they've attacked (that I've heard of) were fleshy or long-tentacled LPS. I've kept them with a variety of leathers, polyps, and mushrooms with no issue; the only thing they killed were my smaller species of anemones. I've not heard of them bothering SPS corals, either.

To answer your question- In hind-sight (having been given bad advice myself at the time by the LFS), I'd say no, you should not get a peppermint shrimp. Adding a predator to eradicate a pest is always a gamble and should only be used as a last resort. There are a variety of methods to eliminate one or two aiptasia manually... aiptasia x, kalk paste, fire, or super glue gel are the most common that seem to work well.

Some nice stuff there! I'm not a completely inexperienced photographer, but most of my tank shots still dont look much better than my avatar (which my son shot with his phone). Heh.
