This came in with the GARF grunge I bought and I found it about 2 weeks ago floating around in the tank. It has a plug on the bottom. I stuck it in the top part of my tank, closer to the limited light I have and so I can watch it. Ya'll think it's alive? and What is it? I was thinking Colt Coral? Do you think my system(lights, filters) is enough to make it flourish? I've been wanting to get some corals and this would be a test for me to see if I'm/my tank is, ready.

If it was floating, it wasnt an sps. Do the polyps ever come out on it? If so, take a pic with the polyps. It looks like some kind of sinularia to me(finger leather). GARF has a how to on fragging sinularia on their website, so Im betting its a sinularia.

It's so small, I have a hard time looking at the little things on the side without my bifocals and a magnifying glass. I think it has changed since I put it up there. It may have been 3 weeks ago that I put it there, I just can't remember the day... The little bumps on the top sides are looking a little bigger.. What kind of light do you think it needs, if it is alive?

Geek, also it was more like drifting on the bottom, slowly, like being pushed by the current or snails/crabs.
