is this an elephant snail?

    Hi, unfortunately, I'm not good with computers and can't seem to attach my picture. It's a newly discovered hitchhiker. It's snail-like and completely black.
    The hard exterior is oval and rather flat. It has a fat nose. Research leads me to believe it might be an elephant snail, but the shell is totally uncovered and there are no slits on the back. Could it be something else???
