I just purchased this brain a few days ago from an online retailer. I put it into the tank tuesday and it hasn't improved in appearance at all. Do ya'll think it died in transit? This is what it looked like when I put it into the tank.

Should I leave it in the tank hoping for a comeback? Thanks for the help.

Hard to tell from the picture, but I almost see a hazy mass surrounding the skeleton. If that is the case it looks like a nasty bacterial infection and the coral maybe dead. Another picture would help.

Well, I think the tissue may be receeding. I will post a pic tomorow when the lights come back on. A little more of the skeleton is showing. Will they be able to over come this or are they a gonner when the tissue starts to receed?

Not in my experience. I am however concerned with the coloration, far too bleached if the photo is doing it any justice. It maybe just acclimating but I would keep a close eye on it.

I would do an iodine dip to help with any bacterial issues.
