I am colorblind so I am not exactly sure what colors I am seeing...haha. It looks like coralline colors to me (red, yellow, blue) but I have learned not to trust my eyes...lol. I just want to make sure this is coralline and some kind of algae bloom.

My tank has been running for 8 weeks, so this it seems pretty quick to be seeing this much color change. I used 12 Lbs of good liverock from my LFS and 50 Lbs of Marco Dry Key Largo. My lights are 2x150w MH 14k and 2x21w T5 Actinics.

This is the tank before what I assume is coralline started forming and before I added the T5s:

    This is the tank currently:

It looks like coralline to me, but is kind of hard to tell from those pics.

The color looks right, but could be the lighting, the texture and patterning dosn't exactly. I'd guess it's probably a mix of micro algae with a good amount of coralline mixed in. In a new tank, it tends to come and go a bit as the tank stabilizes, but it defiantly looks like the foundations are there. I'm sure you'll be cursing it in no time ;)

I tried to brush a little off one of the smaller rocks and the colored speckling stayed...I would assume that means it is coralline. I wonder what caused the rapid coloring? The strength of my lights? Maybe the live rock it was seeded with?

its coralline - the last picture really shows it. The rapid growth is because the rock previously had the grown on it and its now recovering -- just a thought?

He tried to brush it off... cyano is a bacterial mat that forms a film over surfaces, it doesn't really attach to them.

Nice, looking like it's booming through the tank. I like your leather! :)
