Is this coralline?

    Two items.
    1. The red sand, does it look like coralline?
    2. There are dark brown spots on the green, is that just a normal thing?

    First is cyano bacteria

    Second I don't think so since you have a lot of algae and cyano problems too.

    That sucks. Some of the green has already turned purple. I figured the red was the same just on the sand.

    You will want to get a large clean up crew and work on cutting back on your feeding. Increase circulation some and start using GFO and carbon if you do not already. Add a macroalgae refugium to your system to help export excess nutrients.

    It is a 55 and I have 20 cerith, 10 Nassarius. I have a fugue with a HUGE ball of chaeto. I also do weekly wc with RODI

    It is red slime on your sand. Get some red slime remover, make sure you read the directions carefully. If you don't you will kill everything in your tank, but it will work

    Could this be caused from leaving the nori in too long?

    Also, can I just put bags of phosphate remover in my filter sock or a hob filter?
