I have been battling what I think is cyano. I've attached a few pics.

I have been doing water changes, went lights out for 3 days (which helped some). But I also have been blowing it off the rocks and also scrubbing the rocks with a tooth brush and then spending about 45 minutes trying to net as much of it as I can as it floats around the tank. Will that cause it to spread? Any help would be great. TIA

Get more flow in that area. Red slime like calm water from what I've learned.

The tank is has been set up since last April. It grows mostly on the rocks and is a purplish color. It can be blown off with a turkey Bastet. I have tried directing flow at it but it grows in many different areas of the tank

Sounds like cyanobacteria to me. It feeds on light and phosphate. Try using some GFO in a reactor. Also manually removing it at the end of the light cycle. And work on controlling inputting your phosphates into your system.

What type of water do you use during water changes (tap)? How big is your tank and how much flow do you have? How often do you feed? How old are your bulbs?

its a 125 (6 feet) I have 2 Korallia 1050's and 2 750's. I use rodi water that reads 0ppm. I am using 2 120w ebay leds. I think my skimmer may be a bit undersized as I have an aqua c remora pro hob. I am i the process of building a basement sump and will get a better skimmer. I think I will have to fight it until then. My big conern is whether I am spreading it or not when I brush it off the rocks and some blows around the tank.

The flow could be a potential issue. I have almost a 1/3rd your flow in my 20 gallon aquarium, so I imagine there are dead spots in your tank.

What type of corals are you keeping? If you have/plan on keeping SPS, I would get the flow up from 3600 GPH to 5500-6500 GPH. I would look to get up to 5000 GPH with softies and LPS.

Basting it really isn't a cause for concern. You're essentially doing what more flow would be doing for you.

+1, I actually have the same combo of Koralias as you, but in my 55. You are definitely light in the flow department IMO.
