I have a 90g tank and have 6 t12s 520watts total. so I was told by one store that I couldn't have clams or some of the branchy corals that I like. and one store told me I have enough light to have what ever I want... so what's right?

Id have to say you can keep anything you want. Im not great with T5s but 520 watts of t5s seems like MORE then enough to be able to keep anything you want. Worst case you would be able to have sps only mid-high, but who wants sps on the bottom of there tank any ways? As far as clams, water quality IMO is more important then the lights them self. I have seen amny a happy clams in nano tanks lit by only pcs...... Hope this helps!

ok gotta add i just seen that theses where t12s....are t12s aka VHOs?

Wattage is less important compared to exactly "what" the wattage is driving as far as spectrum and intensity. Dube, you have not stated what you have i.e. 10,000, 6700, actinic etc. We need to know exactly what combination you have.

That should be plenty for anything provided you have the right mix of spectra.

good because the guy who sold me the lights told me to buy those instead of MH and I could have anything with this set up and I deff want sps and a clam later so I hope I never wasted money on it when I could of had something different.

Looks good to me but wouldn't the par be lower for t12's. That is my concern for him. I believe he can have anything in there. I am just concerned for the par. Bulb combo sounds good to me also.
