I am looking at lighting for my new 150. 72x18x28 tall.

Will 4 250 Watt HQIs be enough for this deep of a tank? or should I go for 400 Watters.

This is what I have been eyeing....

250W HL MH Retrofit Kit (HQI) - 25035

Will also have 4 72" TEK retros as well for suppliments.

IMHO the 250's should be plenty - but a lot will depend on what kinds of corals you want to keep. I have 175's over my 150, but I keep mainly zoas, lps and softies with a couple of SPS's (montipora's and millis').

But, I am not an expert on lighting so I am sure others will chime in.

Good to hear. This will be a SPS dominate tank. Was hoping to avoid 400s.

Why not go with 3x250? 4 seems like a waste esp when more companies are making the BIG BOY reflectors such as the Lumenmax and Lumenbright.. The cover like 30" or so well..

Would love to, but my tank is center brace. Currently have a 36" dual 175 setup. Have been thinking about centering the 175s with a pair of 250s on the ends.
