The cheapest Maxxima unit that I see is $235.00 and thats for a 24gpd.
    50gpd.....$262.
    HI-S 35gpd....$249
    HI-S 60gpd....$277
    Deluxe HI-S 35gpd...$309
    " " 60gpd...$337

If the unit is in good shape and the replacement filters dont cost much, yes I think this is a good deal.

When buying a used RO/DI always consider the purchase as if you are buying the housings and accessories only. Never assume the filters can be reused. Usually they are shot as often is the RO membrane itself.

What are you getting with it?

Take a look at the sale going on here:
SpectraPure Customer Appreciation SALE! 20% - 50% off

You can pick up a brand new guaranteed system for $149 including all new filters, a batch tested 90 GPD RO membrane, a custom blended SilicaBuster DI cartridge, an inline pressure gauge, a dual inline TDS meter and more.

Compare that to the cost of a new membrane, prefilter, carbon block, DI cartridge, pressure gauge if the Maxima doesn't have one and a TDS meter again if it does not come with one. Thats $107 minimum even at the sale prices. You are money ahead with new and you get a guarantee from a vendor that has been in business 25 years.

I have seen too many people burned or dissatisfied with used systems and try to dissuade it when possible. Its not always the case bu tit is the norm.
