    Hello all,

I currently have a JBJ picotope with mostly soft and LPS corals in it, I am thinking about maybe in the future adding a SPS coral or two so I would like to have enough light for those.

I am thinking about the TrueLumen Pro LED strip, Click here to view Current USAs information about them I am looking at the the marine fusion one. Has anybody used these and do you think that it would be enough light.

no, that strip is only to accent lighting, just like a stunner strip, it wont grow anything. i would suggest going with a couple panorama pros over your tank.

The other option that i am looking at is building my own led fixture, for the three gallon display portion of my system. I am thinking about doing a 50/50 white and royal blue cree 3w led mixture, how many leds do you think i would need to sufficiently light this system running the LEDs at around 70% or so.

i believe with that small a tank a panorama module will work best, its your most economical option.

I think 4 3w Cree LEDS with 60 degree optics would be enough for a 3 gallon JBJ, i would go with a RapidLED DIY 5 or 6 LED kit, would be cheaper than a panorama pro.

If you don't want to go DIY, You can always get a BoostLED par30 bulb, again, cheaper than the panorama and could grow anything in your tank.

dont buy anything from true lumen. its crap I have had the company replace 4 strips in the past 6 months. I used it for accenting but, they always burn out. go with panorama pro modules if you want strip lighting
