my hob skimmer was producing a crazy amount of micro bubbles over my tank.
so i put some sponge in the outlet tube but it didnt work
then i put a filter sock over the end of the outlet tube and that didnt work either so i soaked the end of a pair of tights in a bucket of saltwater over night and put that over the end of it and it works great.will this be ok???

Clean it periodically but that shouldn't hurt anything.

any pictures? I know you have a HOB skimmer, but most in sump skimmers have a drain line connected to collection cup so you can drain the overflow into another location.. sounds like you might need to adjust back you skimmer a little. whats your nitrates at?
