is this sand ok to use?

i have a 40 gallon tank.i will be buying 20kg of live sand but can i use 20kg of childrens playsand too and mix it in?

if not what sand can i use thats not live?

 

look for a source of aragonite sand for best results, avoid silicate based sand if at all possible, if you can't just be aware that you will get major diatom algea blooms as a result of the silicate.

I buy my sand here and according to the FAQ he can ship to most countries

 

That seems like a good deal! A 40lb bag for $29.99 shipped! I just bought a 40lb bag of aragonite from the LFS for like $45.

 

yes it is, thats why I buy all my sand there, usually have it in 3 days. The rock he sells is excellent as well, thats where I plan on getting all my rock from now on.
