that skimmer is a big mombasa, it was made by the same guy that makes the excalibur line of skimmers. this was his first line of skimmers( i believe he had made a deal with coralife to produce those skimmers for them but it fell through so he started making the excalibur line of skimmers) its not a bad skimmer and it will handle a 50 nicely, he has made improvements to the skimmer i.e. larger output tubes, but the big mombasa'a worked quite well for smaller tanks.

I use the prizm pro deluxe the bigger version up to 300g. I like and it's always skimming.

I'm a remora fan and have 2 of them. They are basically set and forget. If you get the remora, upgrade to the Rio 1400+ pump which pumps at 425 gph vs the maxijet 1200 at 296 gph.

I would go with the Aqua C Remora. It is very powerful and besides the fact that I own one and love it, it is easy to use and removes alot of detritus.
The next time you should open up another thread for your question. I went into your thread but saw a few posts about is this skimmer any good? dated back to October of 2004. I thought there was a mistake and almost didn't continue down to find your thread/post...Just to help ya in the future.
