    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    No worries, they are harmless nocturnal algae grazers, the population will wax and wane as your tank becomes established.

    My tank just turned 4 months old a few days ago and i'm noticing some new snails i never added, plus i see some coraline algae now on the glass so the tank must be happy.

    I have tons of those in my sump. They look cool I wish they didn't magically disappear.
