is this some kind of anemone?

    i have no idea what this is. it came from my friends thank that has been seating in a bucket from his old tank water for about 2 weeks and the water was very cold. if this is a anemone how could it have survived?

    It looks like on the me, it must originate in more temperate waters or the temperature isn't as cold as you think. Looks like a ball or strawberry? anemone. Not much up on nems.

    Anyway. I've got several anemones from the Gulf. I've had them for years and they've survived through cycles, dormant tanks, a week in a bucket, etc.

    Some species are especially hardy - so it being in a bucket, IMO, doesn't make it unlikely to be a nem. I'm not sure what kind it is but if I had to guess I'd say a baby majano.

    doesnt look like any majeno i've ever seen before tho... so...not really sure about ID
