Is this some sort of anemone?

    If I understand it right I think its a hydroid. If you scroll down further on that same common id page you'll see it.

    its called a strawberry anemone.theres many kinds of them in many colors.mine did'nt last.i think my tanks to warm for them

    i dont think its a hydroid. It doesnt quite look like that, plus its stationary, its there again today. The form of it looks like an anemone, with a center and legs coming outward- but not like starfish legs, like tentacles of anemone, they move with the flow of the water. The end of the tentacles are very rounded, each looks like a little ball on the end.

    Edit, I didnt read the whole thread, or understand what the previous poster said about the second set of photos, sorry... anyways I definently agree that is a pseudocorynactis.

    Good or bad?

    i got one in my tank has bene there 4 2 months. came with the rock its purple i like it. i was afraid to touch it tho becuz colorfull things in the ocean are usually poisonis is it reef safe?

    From what I have read, it sounds like a no on reef safe, but mine is super small. Maybe the total size of a dime or a nickel- tops. Im not too worried about it, its in a pretty tight corner of my tank where the fish dont normally swim. If it starts getting too big, then I will start to worry. I only have 2 clowns, a royal gramma, a sebae anemone and maybe 5 mushrooms in the tank. So Im not too worried about it terrorizing my tank as there isnt much for it to ruin. Fish are far to big for it

    i got 2 clown hippo tang sail fin i think ill ip mine out tho becuz its o na rock that my cleaner shrimp runs around at sucks cuz there pritty :(
