    Yes it is.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Most commonly used as it can handle a range of pressure and some heat. It can be used in residential and commercial drinking water supply (cold water supply only). It usually is the most economical choice for almost all aquarium setups as well as being the most commonly used for pressurized and drain lines. You can get it in both in flexible and rigid pipe (flexible PVC has lower pressure ratings). This is typically white in color.

I needed about 10 ft of it for my Return when I plumbed to my basement.

Even at Menard's, I paid $25 for a 10ft piece- the only way it came! roughly 2.50/ft.

Yes it will work fine, and that's a great price, didn't look at the shipping prices, but probably still a good deal.

Okay, I use PVC already, but since it said mildew proof I was afraid it could be treated with something. I'd never seen white flex PVC either. Thanks for the response guys.

Good stuff, Really helps keep the return GPH high by eliminating many, if not all of the 90degree bends in the return line.

I run mine straight up off my Marineland 5500. Straight up off the pump, with little twisting, up thru the floor, to the 180 that goes over the side of my DT. At 10ft, it still flows well.
