Is this worth $500-600?

    Hi,
As some of you know, my 72 fowler bowfront has a slow leak. I've been looking for a cheapo replacement. A guy near me has a 150 non-reef ready acrylic, with stand, hood, w/d, pumps, lights (mix of PCs), heater and assorted BS. Everything looks to be in good condition and was supposedly used for under a year. He is selling because he is moving. It's on E-bay so please don't outbid me if you are not already looking at this. He also has a nice 280 rr with side overflows at 2k with lots of extras. If any one wants to loose there minds.

The 150 looks to be in a little rough shape. Maybe a good cleaning is all it needs. The 280 is very nice.

It's real neat and stuff, but for a couple of more hundred bucks, can land you a much better one.

See if you can talk him down on the price. If he is moving then time is on your side :)

I checked them out a couple of years ago when I bought my 90. I didn't like the green glass. And the price to go to the clearer glass was higher than my LFS.

I ordered My 180 from them yesterday after long talks and will update everyone as to what it is like after Feb 17th when I pick it up. What was ordered was the tank, stand and canopy. With the overflows, bulkheads, overflow covers and shipping to Monee Il (Not to my house in Wheaton. There is no shipping option for this!) The total cost was $1375. The stand and canopy need to be stained and varnished but I like that option. I can then match it to the room and paint the interiors with the white boat epoxy that I would do anyway. Now on to researching the lights, sump and equip while I wait

Hey, that sounds great. I agonized over my decision for a while also :)
I ordered my stand from a cabinet maker on ebay, and stained and sealed it myself.
If you're like me and spill lots of water! Make sure you put lots of urethane on it.

BTW, it went for $610. I passed. Even with the stand, I wasn't going to pay that for a non-rr acrylic.
