Ripoff IMHO. You can get much better prices for either the scoly or brain, as they are about the most common for each type. I've seen them go for half those asking prices each at LFS's. But I guess it all depends on your locale. Being craigslist, I would expect them for $20-$30 each to be honest.

From the small picture, I would say that's a trac brain. I wouldn't think it would be worth it unless you check it out in person and the coloration is awesome. Some of the completely green brains can be pretty dull. When you see them be sure to also check out what kind of lighting your looking at them under.

I agree, he probably found it cheaper and you probably could too.

As an update, I told him I wasn't going to pay more than $30 for it, and he e-mailed me back saying he was deeply insulted and wished me "good luck on my future coral purchases." in a snotty tone.

I'm going to chalk that up as a win in my book!

    I would too.

If that scoly had a bit better color, or just more orange it would be easily worth 90 bucks.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of wellso and trach brains. Most and kinda dull. I paid a lot for mine but it has intense color and is big.
So the price really just depends on how nice the colors are and the size. $30 is probably a decent price since that one looks like it doesn't have much color. I don't think it would sell for much less than that even on our local clubs message board.
In some areas of the country where there aren't many fish stores with a decent selection of corals prices seem to be way more.

I didn't even know people sold corals in craigslist!

If you're looking for a cool scolymia, just out the first one in that list, though $850 is way out of my budget...wifey would kick me out in a heartbead:)

    Edit: sorry, it's $899, not $850
