Hey guys... I think my hamster isn't doing to well...

Does anyone know of a forum dedicated to hamsters?

    I'll ask here meanwhile..

When I came back from college I had 2 hamsters that looked healthy.
One of them loss a bit of hair from his nose but it healed. Then 2 days in my house it died... He was wobbling when walking, perked up, not eating, and he had soiled himself... I thought the other hamster killed him because he had a bloody nose and they were fighting right before I separated them. (he was fine the day before)

2 weeks later my other hamster loss some hair in his left side but healed and looked normal... But now he is also showing similar symptoms as my other hamster.. ( he still collects food but haven't seen him drink water yet... He was fine yesterday)
What I'm a doing wrong... I feel like a terrible owner. He is in a fishtank next to my 150G. He has lots of matting and water and food.. I put food in his bowl once a day. they were both fairly fat and happy I dont know what's wrong..

It's 70degrees in my house, could it be too cold for them ?

I would take him to the vet but I'm afraid I don't have money.. I mentioned it to my mom and she said she wouldn't spend money on that... So...
    Anyone has any ideas?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Hamster are prone to respiratory infections. And the hair loss sounds like ring worm. Both aliments they pass readily to one another.

There are some over the counter antibiotics that people use for birds, but I have no clue on dosing. The ring worm will need a completely different fungal treatment.

Sorry I can not offer more assistance.

    Good Luck

My bedding is the cardboard bedding thing..
I don't think it's allergy because they had that at the store and for the 2 months I had them.

My current hamster still is by it's nesting area...
Idk if he is going to make it :(

Can't believe 2 hamsters died under my care...
