I'm glad that pruning it doesn't make it come in thicker, OverThinker! :) If that were the case, I'd have tossed it out the window months ago. I have just grown weary of the incessant "knocking it back " method.

I do agree that it does kinda look cool. I know that yellow polyps are a very sturdy coral, so maybe in 50 years when man has discovered the cure for cancer, I can eradicate it off this rock, and the yellow polyps will still be there. :)

I wouldn't be surprised. I recently fragged out a big rock of GSP and when I peeled back the mat in several sections some ugly brown zoa's popped out. Now that they are back under light, they are started to grow

I did just that, Bogie. At first, I thought my new Kole tang was loving the caulerpa, but I noticed that he was just either trying to strip the very soft hairlike projections off the runners, or mouthing the spheres--sometimes liberating them from the rock. That's what scared me. I DO NOT want this stuff to migrate.

So I brought it to my LFS who gave me $15 credit for it. With that discount I got a pair of fire shrimp for $45 instead of $60. One of the fire shrimp died after 3 days, but the other has moulted and appears to be doing fine.
