it didnt work

    well my diy project to fix my center support beam didnt work... my glass is bowed out a 1/4 inch i am going to order a new fram but i dont get paid till friday will my aquarium last until then and then once i get it do i have to remove all the water to put on the new frame? and how do i get the old frame off? thanks for the help....

    Get a cabinet clamp to bring the bow in and then drill the holes and then the nuts and bolts then remove the clamp. But if you don't squeeze the bow in it will always be there. You can rent a cabinet clamp for 5.00 a day in my area at a tool rental place even Home depot will rent them I think.. Or you can just remove about 2/3 rd of the water make the reapir then put the water back in..

    You said it didn't work, but what didn't work? What did you try to do to fix it?

    ohn what i did is this... i took out half the water and then i stole one of my wifes big plastic spoons cut the handle off and drilled a hole in each end... then i put a nylon screw/rivet in each hole pu a keeper in each and siliconed the keeper in so the screw ont come out... so far it is working but i havent put the water back yet i will keep everyone posted.... keep your fingers crossed

    well it ended up being 2/16 off a lot better then the 1/2 it was

    Thats abut the normal amount of bow.. As I posted I like to use a strip of 1/4 in acrylic and then drill 2 holes on each tab of the old frame cross member then the S.S nuts and bolts its better then the factor brace I have used this just this past week to cut the glass panels from a 200 oceanic center ..FYI in the future :)
