It is a dry heat, yeah right !
But while I doze I can hear zap, arch, zap, arch. No tell tale electric smell just Zap.

Drip loops are ESSENTIAL and I had mine, but not perfect.

I did a larger than normal water change two days ago. The tank was almost completely full. A korailia placed too high in the tank caused a slight spray with the water level so high. But the lid prevented it from going anywhere, so I thought. The water ran down the lighting cords coming out of the lid, to the drip loop and then dripped on the chller cord which I really did not think needed a loop, to end up at the power strip. It was not a large amount of water, just a few drops, but enough to possibly distroy my tank and maybe my home. The power stip was an expensive one, but I am lucky that is all I lost tonight.

    Be safe out there reefers.

Sounds like you got pretty lucky. Thanks for the safety update and the reminder to us all how one little mistake could possibly cost us our tank, home, or life. K+ to you!

    Damn Koralias. ;D
I had a similar thing happen to me. Mine caused a little bit of water every now and then to lap over the top of the tank and go down inside the press board tank stand. Found a puddle on the stand floor. It took 2 days until I figured out my tank wasn't actually leaking, just the Koralia was making a small wave every once in a while that was just large enough to go over the lip of the tank. A little adjustment to the angle of the Koralia and crisis averted.
