I've noticed a tiny little thing growing on my live rock the other day. Its really small but getting bigger everyday. It has branches and looks almost whitish brown. My tank has only been set up for 28 days but I used the rock from my old tank.

It definitely started growing a lot bigger once the lights were on. Sorry but I can't take a pic due to it being so small! I could draw one if needed. Thanks.

My first thought is it may be an Aiptasia, if so you will want to get some Joes' Juice and kill it promptly.

does your "old tank" have a colt coral or somethink like that that could have sprouted it on the rock you used for your new tank?

It could also be a hitchhiker sps. If you can't post a pic, try drawing a picture of it. At least that should resolve whether it's aptasia or not.

This is the best I could do. I really don't think it is aiptasia, looks nothing like what I have seen.

Well, I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's a coral. Sorry I couldn't help you any more.

Maybe some kind of tube worm? If you touch it does it suck back into the white part?

Either a sponge or hydroid. Google hydroid and see if any pictures look like it.
