It's about bloody time

Alright so here's the scoop, I'm the head sport's photographer for my University and I've never had a good fast lens for my camera for those action shots. I always made due with what I had and it worked pretty well for the outdoor sports, indoor was a nightmare. So, the first of October I ordered a new lens, a 70-200 f/2.8 Sigma. Well I got an email saying it was backordered and to expect a shipment within 1-2 weeks. Ok, I can deal with that. To make a long story short, I just got my lens yesterday after a 2 and a half month backorder and numerous emails to the manufacturer. This thing is a beast. Now I just can't wait until X-mas break is over and I can get back to taking sports shots with it.

 

f/2.8 on a 70~200mm??? Wow, that puppy must be a monster. Congrats though. Put up some pics after taking them.

 

I sure will. And yeah, this thing is a monster. It has its own tripod screw since it changes the center of gravity so much.

 

Alright, so call me a nerd for taking pictures of a camera, but here's just how big this thing is. Too bad there's now way for me to let you feel how much it weighs.
