okay guys at the lfs i purchased a few snails and hermits for a CUC, also got a heater to stabilize temperature a bit. also i got a bag of carbon to put behind with the filter.

i seem to be having quite a problem with the cloudy water. i had increased flow with the flow valve and taken the splash guard off. but i ran into a problem with that much flow that water splashed out of the tank, soaking the led's and my desk. so i had to put the valve back on and leave the splash gaurd off. so the water still is quite cloudy, hopefully the carbon may clear that up? or is there further action i should take the clear up the tank?

I'm thinking the carbon should help. Is it sediment that just needs time to settle?

should have cleared up after a day.. all I can think of is to do a small water change. Or just give it more time to settle.

hey guys, sorry its been a while since i updated. the tank finished cycling about 5 days ago, i put in a baby occelaris and also purchased a tiny clean up crew from the lfs consisting of 4 hermits and 3 turbos. i will get pics as soon as possible :D

but since the tank has finished cycling algae has gone crazy. within a couple days the every pane of glass was covered and all the corraline on the rocks got covered as well with the pesky stuff. just so you guys know i have a protein skimmer on order that should arrive tomorrow and i also ordered the 8 pack nano clean up crew from reefs2go hopefully that should help a bit.

but other than that, any suggestions as to what would help the algae problem die down a bit? hopefully the protein skimmer will also introduce a little bit more flow into the tank as well.

ok guys, have an update here and some pics! at last! my apologies in advance for crappy phone pics :(

as i said in the post above i have already put a clown in there :D the tank cycled a while ago and he seems to be quite happy in there :) i really plan on having him be the only fish. although i may put in a tiny goby along the way possibly.

also as i said above, the tank started getting OVERRUN with algae! i had purchased a small little CUC (3 turbos, 4 hermits) but they did not seem to be doing much so i purchased the 8 piece CUC from reefs2go.

reefs2go... i was a little disappointed as they after i ordered they did not send me any sort of confirmation email or any order status. i in fact did not receive a single email from them :/ they said it was priority shipping and i ordered it on the 5th, i started to worry when a week went by and i did not hear anything. i tried to contact them from their site, i sent several emails and several calls but none were answered. and in fact the day i was going to contact my bank about getting my money back, 2 days ago, my order arrived. so pretty crappy service to say the least.
although everything did arrive alive, there was a list enclosed and my emerald crab was not sent although it was replaced :D i am pretty happy with the contents of the order. i believe these guys should help keep my tank a little cleaner. some things that were included int he package.

small shroom, only been in the tank for an hour or so when i took the pic.

and i need an ID on this guys! not sure at all what it is but whatever it is its doing great! only was in my tank 10 minutes and was completely open. looks awesome too.

FTS, the tank has way more algae than i would like, but hopefully i can ge tthat under control.
