I started doing saltwater 1 year ago, so I do still have a bunch to learn BUT I went back and read the first few 3 or 4 threads I ever posted on this forum and it really does amaze me on how little I actually knew when first starting out into this hobby! The simplest questions I had to ask... I think to myself "I can't believe I didn't know the answer to that!!!" lol It just goes to show you how much you learn and how fast you have to learn it in this hobby! I still have a lot to learn, I know, but at least I'm not a total NOOB anymore :p If you think about it, every one of us started out like that! ;D

It is totally true that there was a point that each of us knew nothing. :) It is amazing to look back and see how the knowledge evolved.

What's even more amazing is a big chunk of what we know now will likely be old news and out dated in afew years.

What is really scary is that I was trying to give advice back then. Good example of why you don't blindly go with someone's advice on a forum. Listen to others opinions but do your own research as well.

Yeah my first thought about the hobby was that a simple hob filter would automatically just make my water pristine.(had no idea stuff even went in there, i thought it was some magic box) Boy look at me now... lol

Im like a sponge, i read, read, read, read every thing i can related to the hobby. Ppls past experiences, good and bad, and most importantly listening to those who've done this hobby longer than ive been on Mother Earth. This isnt a hobby for the short fused, stubborn, or one who wants a nice tank in 2 weeks. It takes time and understanding, that mostly anyone who gives a toot, can learn i think.
