Actually, they are in the medusa stage. Looks like a hydromedusae called Staurocladia oahuensis. Look it up ;)

there are many different types, i think only some are harmful. but if you get those then they can be harmful in large groups much like aptasias. hydroids will sting corals, fish , even you. the difference between them and aptasia(besides size and species lol) is they have a free swimming stage i think.

Dude, everyone here could be right. From my computer, it does look like mini starfish (like I have in my tank too but the size of a quarter like the other thread about cheato hitch hikers). BUT it's hard to see how big they are and you'd have to assume that whatever is in the picture does look like a star but could possibly be a Hydroid medusa and you can't make out those extra extremedies. I would try to scoop some out and take it to the LFS where they could be seen first hand and recommend that you've heard it might be Hydroid medusa. If you want to go even further, you can just google it and do some research.
From where I sit they do look like stars on my screen but just don't be at ease with that answer...

they are not the star fish.... I have tons of those and they are on the glass every day. Get a mag glass and see that look like jellyfish with tentacles and all....I have had them for over a month now and they dont seem to be going away just getting bigger....
